Chatelaine, at 81 Broadway, was established in 1988, featuring the handcrafted jewelry designs of over 100 artists from around the country, with a small amount of quality imported work. In addition, a few handcrafted gift lines were available.

In 1998, Chatelaine addressed a need for more space by expanding to double its original size. Now it became possible to accommodate customers' requests for gift items as unique as its jewelry. Items offered include body products, handbags, special topic books for adults and children, candles, verse plaques, and even some gourmet foods.
